A spokesperson of China's Ministry of Commerce (MOC) said that China has noted that, on 12 March Eastern Time, the US initiated a 301 investigation against 60 economies, including China, for 'failing to prohibit the import of products made with forced labor', according to the website of the MOC. This is yet another Section 301 investigation launched by the US in quick succession, following the 'overcapacity' Section 301 investigation initiated on 11 March. Currently, China and the US are holding a new round of economic and trade consultations in Paris, France. China has lodged a representation with the US. China urges the US to immediately correct its mistaken practices and work with China in mutual respect and equal consultation principles to find solutions through dialogue and negotiation. China will closely monitor the progress of the US investigation, and reserves the right to take all necessary measures to firmly defend its legitimate rights and interests. AASTOCKS Financial News |
