The HSI opened down 63 points or 0.2% at 25,718. The HSCEI dropped 31 points or 0.3% to 9,191. The HSTECH fell 40 points or 0.7% to 5,882.

Among tech stocks, BABA-W (09988.HK) opened flat at HKD161.9. TENCENT (00700.HK), MEITUAN-W (03690.HK), XIAOMI-W (01810.HK), JD-SW (09618.HK), KUAISHOU-W (01024.HK), and BILIBILI-W (09626.HK) inched down 0.4-1%. BIDU-SW (09888.HK) and NTES-S (09999.HK) lost 1.5% and 2.1%.

In the software sector, KINGSOFT (03888.HK) and KINGDEE INT'L (00268.HK) opened 1.2% and 0.9% higher. Chip stocks SMIC (00981.HK) and HUA HONG SEMI (01347.HK) dipped 0.5% and 0.6%. TME-SW (01698.HK) added 0.9%. China greenlighted a total of 166 Chinese-made and imported games this month, including "Ba Huang Qi Lu (literal translation of "八荒奇旅")" operated by Guangzhou Kugou Computer Technology under TME-SW.

Regarding carmakers, GEELY AUTO (00175.HK), BYD COMPANY (01211.HK), LI AUTO-W (02015.HK), and XPENG-W (09868.HK) opened declining 0.6-0.7%.

As for other stocks, SANDS CHINA LTD (01928.HK) rallied 1.1% to HKD18.63 at open. Its 3Q25 adjusted property EBITDA escalated 2.7% YoY, which, as indicated by CLSA, exceeded its market peers' and the broker's estimates by 0.5% and 4%, respectively. Its mass market share also rose 1.4 ppts QoQ to 25.4%, the highest level since 1Q24.
