Chinese cities Shanghai and Shenzhen are planning to lift remaining major home purchase restrictions in a bid to attract potential buyers and stimulate the real estate market, Reuters quoted sources as saying.

It was learnt that Shanghai and Shenzhen will lift the restrictions on the purchase of local properties by individuals and families from other places in China, and proposed to abolish restrictions on the number of units to be purchased by individuals and families. These measures are expected to be announced in the coming few weeks.

In the longer term, Beijing is also considering lifting similar restrictions across most areas of the city in phases over the long term, with the exception of areas where government offices are located, such as Xicheng and Dongcheng, according to the report.

GREENTOWN CHINA (03900.HK) shot up 16.21% to last at $8.82, while SEAZEN (01030.HK) mushroomed 19.07% to last at $2.31. CHINA JINMAO (00817.HK) last escalated 8.89% to $0.98, while SHIMAO GROUP (00813.HK) last mounted 5.88% to $0.9. CIFI HOLD GP (00884.HK) last printed at $0.375, ascending 15.38%.
