<Research>Citi: UK & EU Institutional Investors Raise Interest in CN Consumer Staples, w/ Focus in MENGNIU/ CR BEER/ NONGFU SPRING/ LI NING & Others

Citi Research noted in a report that it recently met with around 30 institutional investors on a UK and European marketing trip. These investors are now more interested in consumer staples over consumer discretionaries when compared to those met on Citi's US marketing trip back in April. While remaining cautious about the macro environment on the mainland, investors who have reduced their China holdings have expressed an interest in re-examining their China positions. Citi revealed that investors continue to be interested in high dividend-yield stocks such as TOPSPORTS (06110.HK). The sectors and stocks the bank was asked about most during the marketing trip were beer stocks such as CHINA RES BEER (00291.HK), food and beverage stocks such as MENGNIU DAIRY (02319.HK) and NONGFU SPRING (09633.HK), baijiu stocks such as KWEICHOW MOUTAI (600519.SH), sports stocks such as LI NING (02331.HK) and TOPSPORTS, food and beverage stocks such as HAIDILAO (06862.HK), and home appliance stocks such as HAIER SMARTHOME (06690.HK) and MIDEA GP (000333.SZ).
