Oracle (ORCL.US) announced after market close on Wednesday that its net profit for the second fiscal quarter ending November 30 surged 95% YoY to US$6.14 billion, with adjusted EPS at US$2.26, way beyond the market expectation of US$1.64.

However, its revenue increased by 14% to US$16.06 billion, falling short of the expected US$16.21 billion. The stock price slipped 7% after hours.
