<US>DJIA Closes Up ~500Pts as Fed Cuts Rates as Expected; 'Magnificent Seven' Mixed

All three major US stock indices headed north on Wednesday, as the Federal Reserve announced another rate cut, coupled with market bets on more easing policies next year.

The DJIA widened its gains after the rate cut announcement, closing up 497 points, or 1.1%, to 48,057. The S&P 500 rose 0.7% to 6,886, nearing the late October closing high. The Nasdaq inched up 0.3% to 23,654.
