BABA-W (09988.HK) (BABA.US)'s Amap announced that, with the start of summer holiday, passenger volume increased significantly for taxi companies in Shenzhen and Hong Kong that cooperate with the company. Of which, the passenger volume for Hong Kong taxi fleets on Amap platform surged over 1x from the same period last year. According to recent market data, Shenzhen's nighttime consumption index ranked third nationwide YTD, doubling YoY, Amap added. Relaxation, culture and socializing have become the mainstream consumption patterns, attracting northbound consumption by a large number of Hong Kong residents. Hong Kong residents accounted for as much as 24% of Shenzhen's nighttime consumption population. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong government actively promoted the development of the mega event economy, with major international sports events and concerts held consecutively, attracting over 600,000 participants, with about 50% being mainland Chinese and overseas audiences.
