Xi Jinping, amid Visit in Malaysia, Urges Co-op to Uphold Multilateral Trade & Global Supply Chain Stability

Today (15th), Chinese President Xi Jinping published a signed article in Malaysia’s Sin Chew Daily, The Star, and Sinar Harian, coinciding with his state visit to Kuala Lumpur, CCTV reported.

Xi accentuated the need for close strategic communication, enhanced political trust, and the implementation of the China-Malaysia “Belt and Road” cooperation plan.

He urged deeper alignment of development strategies, exchange of governance experiences, and high-level strategic cooperation to advance bilateral ties.

Xi noted that in 2024, China-Malaysia trade whopped USD212 billion, nearly 1,000 times higher than at the time of diplomatic establishment, with China remaining Malaysia’s top trading partner for 16 consecutive years.

He called for closer collaboration in international and regional affairs to uphold the multilateral trading system, ensure global supply chain stability, and foster an open and cooperative international environment.
