China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has mounted a special campaign since April and will persist it until December to rectify the abuse of administrative power that excludes or restricts competition, CCTV reported.

The campaign targets four key issues: behaviors that restrict enterprises’ independent relocation, obstruct the free flow of goods and resources, hamper fair participation in cross-regional operations, and impose hidden barriers for local protectionism and market segmentation.

Through this initiative, authorities aim to investigate major cases, revise or abolish policies that undermine a unified national market and fair competition, and address public and business concerns about administrative abuses. The effort seeks to foster fair competition, support enterprise growth, and promote high-quality economic development.
